Art, AI, and Connection

Back in art school I remembered having an entire class dedicated to study just one artist. That means reading about them and coping one of their drawings meticulously every day. I remember the class to this day because at some point throughout the delirioum of many copies, one night, I felt a stronger connection to their work. As if suddenly by a surreal divine power that artist talked to me that night and guide my hand. Flash forward a few more years. Dalai Laima visited my school. Don't ask me what he said! I do however remember how clearly he stated the fact the we all are deeply interconnected. To this day, I still think about that experience drawing since that never happened again. I still draw. I still enjoy it. It's a form of meditation for me, to clarify my ideas. I sometimes ask AI for feedback or I make it speak as one of my favorite art teachers. I very often pass my sketches to AI to see all the world of possibilities. Then I might ask it to mix certain obscure art references, which then turns into a deeper research. As one portal opens the next one until AI says 'yeah, that's cool but let's finish this first!'. Being an artist, raised by a mom who was and still is painting, a dad into filmmaking who is still uploading his videos to YouTube, and my desire to pursue art as a career and later further my education to focus on animation, I sense we're about to enter a golden era for art&design, for the unrepresented voices to be heard and for everyone to find new ways of self-expression. And if not, at least it would a fun ride exploring.
